This video addresses some very important inquiries that came up in the circle during Recovery Q&A:
- Grief in Recovery: Loss is a part of life, but when faced with grief in recovery the experience can be different than when we were active in our addiction. It’s important to stay close to community and process emotions in a healthy way.
- Coping with Life Transitions: Many people in recovery struggle with transitions – even simple ones. When we’re faced with a big life transition, like divorce, job loss, moving, etc., what can we do to protect our recovery?
- Unhooking from Attachments: Attachments to things, people, places, or narratives can lead to suffering. In recovery, what steps can we take to disengage from attachments that no longer serve us?
- Nurturing Curiosity When Faced with Changes: Life changes often bring anxiety and apprehension, and these feelings can keep us feeling ‘stuck’. While change can be daunting, it also brings opportunity and potential into our lives.
The questions asked in this circle helped shed light on common relationship situations people experience after they get sober, how to build self-awareness and break old patterns, and the importance of bringing wholeness and authenticity to all our relationships.
We hope you find the answers insightful and helpful.
