This video addresses some very important inquiries that came up in the circle during Recovery Q&A:
- New Beginnings: It’s the start of a New Year, a time when fresh starts are on peoples’ minds. Transitions can be difficult, however, and it’s important to set realistic goals when entering a new chapter or phase of life.
- What to do if we relapse: We often hear “relapse doesn’t have to be part of recovery”, but for many, many people it is. How we respond to a relapse lays the foundation to getting back on our path of recovery and discovery.
- Navigating loss in recovery: Loss comes in many forms. We experience grief when someone we love passes, for example. When we lose a job, or belongings that meant a lot to us, or something doesn’t turn out the way we expect, we can experience anger, hurt, resentment, and other emotions. How can we navigate these complex emotions and put our recovery first?
- Asking for the help we need: For most people, asking for help is difficult, but it’s a cornerstone of a healthy, joyful, and sustainable recovery.
The questions asked in this circle helped shed light on common relationship situations people experience after they get sober, how to build self-awareness and break old patterns, and the importance of bringing wholeness and authenticity to all our relationships.
We hope you find the answers insightful and helpful.
