Recovery is a spiritual journey, grounded in spiritual principles, and the Buddha’s teachings offer practitioners ethical clarity as well as formal practice guidelines, grounded in compassion, aimed toward freedom.
The spiritual principle that underlies Step 7 is Humility, following upon, and interwoven with, the Willingness that underlies Step 6. These two steps continue to guide people in recovery toward Unconditional Universal Love, Discipline and Justice, Perseverance, Ongoing Spiritual Awareness, and Service.
